Reta Brearley

Wife, Mum, Gran, Great Gran & Best Friend

She was the calm when it was stormy, the kind face amongst any gloom. A strong woman who looked at the world with positivity and compassion. She had the greatest of giggles and the comfiest of cuddles. No problem was too big and no worry too small. We will miss her so very deeply but will be comforted always by how much love and laughter we shared with one another

Memories & stories

  • Gran's house was the most peaceful house you could ever walk into. Whenever we arrived and knocked on the conservatory doors, she was always beaming and ready to greet you. Her house was my haven when on maternity leave with my son, we'd visit twice a week and she'd often say "Are you here to keep me company, or am I keeping you company today?" It was always the latter. I miss the quiet moments and the cuddles the most.
